Iran, land of ancient secrets; Tehran, European city: Indian academic

Tehran, Dec 16, IRNA - An Indian leading media academic who had recently taken a trip to Iran described the country as an influential land of ancient secrets and its capital Tehran as a European city in the Middle East.

According to the Delhi-based News Website Millennium post, during his second trip to Tehran, Professor Ujjwal K Chowdhury described Iran as a beautiful land brimming with tourist attractions.

The Indian academic has pointed to good memories of walking in Iran's alleys and streets during his eight-day trip, saying he would never forget night-walks in the streets of Tehran.

Tehran's beautiful infrastructure is another attraction to Professor Chowdhury. 'From wide roads to well-marked small alleys, every destination had an English and Farsi (Persian) identity written at well-designated places,' he says.

Most construction in Tehran is eco-friendly and glass walls are an attempt to save energy, he went on to say.

Some other mesmerizing features of Tehran, in his view, include tradition blended with modernity, impressive education statistics and public healthcare.
